We went to the London temple & to Edenbridge to tour the Hever Castle. We stayed at a hotel & Ella was thrilled to sit in a "Big" chair to eat her breakfast.
We ate lunch at a cottage by the pond. Ella was a little scared of the fake cow...but has no problem going up to pet a live one!
This is the quaint village of the Hever Castle.
Hever Castle is where the famous Anne Boleyn grew up. Of course no pics were allowed to be taken inside. It's amazing to see how people lived in the castle. So many passageways & secret doors. They were small people back in those days. The doors came up to my chin. The average height of a man was 5'4" & the women smaller. Their beds, sofas, & chairs were much smaller then what we have now. Also their clothes & shoes seemed tiny.
The gardens surrounding the castle were gorgeous. All the bushes were cut in fun shapes.
There were many ducks & swans swimming in the moat around the castle.
The big lake behind the castle. This is where they would have their tea when the weather was nice.
There was a garden maze for us to go through to find the stone in the middle. We got lost many times.
Finally we found the stone with creepy hand imprints on it. Still have no idea what this stone represents.
